CAIRO - 11 September 2017: Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria is hosting the Africa Champions League quarterfinal match between the Libyan team, Al Ahli Tripoli, and the Tunisian side, Étoile du Sahel, on Sunday, September 17.
Al Ahli Tripoli played their African Champions League games in Tunisia but they asked to play this game in Egypt because they are playing against a Tunisian club.
Al Ahli Tripoli’s Head Coach, Egyptian Talaat Youssef, was born in Alexandria and played his whole career with Alexandrian giants Al Ittihad. He hopes Alexandrians will support his team against Etoile.
Al Ahli Tripoli qualified to the quarterfinals after being placed second in Group B, the team played alongside Zamalek, CAPS United and USM Alger.
Egyptian officials allowed 1,500 Libyan fans and 500 Tunisian fans to attend the game at Borg El Arab.
Borg El Arab stadium will host the match between the Egyptian team Al Ahli and the Tunisian team Esperence the day before.
