Asensio voted Madrid’s player of August

CAIRO – 7 September 2017:The Spanish national team winger, Marco Asensio, is voted as the player of the month in August, at the Spanish Club Real Madrid on Thursday, in a social media survey by football spectators, according to official website of Real Madrid Club.

The international Spanish player was awarded the Mahou Prize from Mahou Company after his massive contribution to the club's success in last month’s games, as he contributed to Real Madrid’s winning the European Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup.

Asensio, 21, shined at the Spanish Super Cup when he scored two goals in the two games against Real Madrid local rivals, Barcelona.

Asensio’s performance with Real Madrid earned him a place in the Spanish National Team who defeated Italy and Liechtenstein 3-0 and 8-0 respectively to top their group in 2018 World Cup Qualifiers.

Asensio joined Real Madrid in 2014, and he went on a loan to Espanyol the next year before Real Madrid’s manager, Zinedine Zidane gave him a chance with the first team last year.

Asensio won the Spanish League and 2017 Champions League title with the club, he scored Real Madrid’s fourth goal against Juventus at the Champions League finals.

Asensio is expected to be the best player in the world in the next few years if he continues performing at this level.
