CAIRO-5 - September 2017: The International Taekwon-Do Federation for the first time in its history has elected Egyptian Taekwon-Do Federation member Mohamed Shaaban as the head of the International Taekwon-Do Federation Competitive Committee on Monday, press reports said.

With this decision, Shaaban, 39 years old, is considered the first African-Arabian and Egyptian to be in charge of this position, as well as youngest head manager elected at the ITF, according to the official ITF site.

Mohamed Shaaban booked his place in Taekwon-Do in 1994 when he joined the national Taekwon-Do team, through which he participated in the World Cup Championship in 1998 in France, Germany and Japan.

After his retirement from Taekwon-Do, he started his career path as a financial manager at an international company.

In 2012, he was elected as a member of the Egyptian Taekwon-Do Federation and also became a supervisor of the national Taekwon-Do team.
