Al Husseiny attempts to cross the Minch

CAIRO - 1 September 2017: The young Egyptian swimmer Mohamed Al Husseiny is trying to enter the Guinness World Records as the first swimmer with Down Syndrome to cross the Minch.

Accoring to Al Husseiny Taj Al Din, the swimmer’s father, he began his attempt to cross the channel between England and France on Friday morning. He added that he is following his son’s progress closely and he is always connected with the delegation and Mohamed’s mother, who accompanied him on his journey to try to cross the Minch.

In an exclusive statement to Egypt Today Taj Al Din said his son Mohamed managed to swim 6.2 kilometers in two and quarter hours. "Mohamed is in a training camp since three years ago in Hurghada, and we only got to see him for a day and half every week,” he said. He also requested addition to requesting from all Egyptians to support Mohamed and wish for him best luck to succeed in its challenge and raise the name of Egypt high.
