CAIRO - 1 September 2017: The English Premier League has announced the nominated players for the best player of August award.
Egyptian star Mohamed Salah and Senegalese Sadio Mane have been nominated from Liverpool. Manchester United’s Romelu Lukaku, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Phil Jones were also nominated. The Danish Jonas Lossl goalkeeper of Huddersfield Town, and Alvaro Morata, the new Chelsea striker, were also among the nominees.
Mane and Lukako scored three goals each on August, while the Egyptian Salah scored two goals during the Premier League. Morata scored two goals for his new team Chelsea and Manchester United’s midfielder Mkhitaryan succeeded in making four goals in just three league games.
Salah joined Liverpool from Rome with a deal worth € 42 million ($ 50.04 million) to become the most expensive deal in the history of Liverpool. Naby Keita’s transfer from RB Leipzig to Liverpool next summer will make him outperform the Egyptian Pharaoh with a deal worth € 50 million.
Salah was awarded the best player of both matches against Watford and Arsenal in the first and third rounds of the Premier League. He did not participate against Crystal Palace from the beginning of the game.
