CAIRO – 31 August 2017: Hectur Cuper, Egypt’s national team’s manager, spoke to the Egyptian players on August 31 ahead of their decisive match against Uganda in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Cuper’s final pep talk was to ready the players ahead of the game that will be played.
Cuper told the players, “we are very close to achieving something great. Some of you might not be in Egypt’s squad in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. You have to take that time as an opportunity to achieve your dream that is very close and that is not very difficult. All of you deserve to play at the World Cup.”
Egypt is set to play Uganda twice in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, on August 31 and September 5. If the team manages to win both games, then Egypt has a high chance of playing in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Egypt’s group in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers is as follows: Egypt is in first place with 6 points, Uganda is in second place with 2 points, and Ghana is in third place with 1 point. Congo is in last place with 0 points.
