Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus believes there are many common things between his coach in Manchester City, Pep Guardiola, and his coach in Brazil, Adenor Bacchi, known as Tite.
“I don’t really see much difference between Pep and Tite,” Jesus told the press on Wednesday in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
Jesus added, “the two seem to be the same on the field, asking tactical questions, transferring a lot of intensity to the team, thinking of shape and how we are pressing.”
Jesus is training with the Brazilian national team ahead of Brazil’s game against Ecuador during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Jesus moved to Manchester City in January from Brazil’s Palmeiras, and he earned a regular place in Guardiola’s starting line-up.
Jesus spoke about his time in Manchester, saying, “thankfully, everyone at the club helped me. Coming into the cold weather, without speaking the language, it was difficult. But I was happy with my start on the field for City, and I will continue in that vein.”
Brazil tops the South American qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup, with 33 points — 9 points ahead of Uruguay, which is in second place.
