CAIRO – 30 August 2017: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arsenal’s winger, rejected Chelsea’s offer that was approved by Arsenal on August 29.
According to Sky Sports and BBC, the player is willing to leave Arsenal; however, he prefers to join Liverpool and not Chelsea. The player believes that at Chelsea he won’t have attacking freedom compared to that of Liverpool. The reason behind that is that at Chelsea he will play as a wing back with defensive duties while at Liverpool he will play as an attacking winger.
Arsenal approved Chelsea’s £40 million offer regarding Oxlade-Chamberlain, as reported from Goal. Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte believes that Chamberlain is a versatile player who can be used as a right or left wing back, winger and central midfielder.
Chamberlain is an experienced and talented player who made 198 appearances with Arsenal ever since joining them in 2011 after leaving Southampton.
