CAIRO – 30 August 2017: Moses Basena, Uganda’s manager, spoke on August 30 ahead of Egypt’s tough game against Uganda on August 31 in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking in the pre-match press conference, Basena addressed the importance of the match along with talking about some fears and concerns he has regarding the game.

Basena said, This match is very important to me and to all the people of Uganda. Therefore, we have to do our best in order to win the game.”

Basena continued, We have a problem before Egypt’s game which is that the players are not playing matches regularly due to the fact that the football season in Uganda did not start yet”

Basena concluded, “While the fact that the league just ended in Egypt is an advantage to them not to us. This makes their players ready in physical terms unlike our players who are not really fit.”

Egypt is set to play Uganda twice in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, on August 31 and September 5.

Egypt’s group in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers is as follows: Egypt is in first place with 6 points, Uganda is in second place with two points, and Ghana is in third place with 1 point, followed by Congo in last place with 0 points.
