CAIRO – 28 August 2017: French former striker, David Trezeguet, believes that Barcelona star Lionel Messi is the best player in the world. Trezeguet spoke during an interview with FIFA.com on Monday.

Trezeguet, 39 years old, looks to Stade de France as the best stadium he played at. Trezeguet won the 1998 FIFA World Cup when he was just 21 at Stade de France, beating Brazil 3-0 at the final.

Trezeguet chose his goal against Italy in the UEFA EURO 2000 final the best of his career. Trezeguet’s golden goal led France to rule the world of football, winning the World Cup and the Euro in just two years.

David’s decision to join the Italian giants Juventus from Monaco in 2000 was the greatest move in his career. Trezeguet told Fifa.com he had the best fans he has ever seen in his career, when he played for River Plate for one year.

Trezeguet, born in France, is a French Argentinean. He chose to represent the French national team over Argentina.
