FC Barcelona shows interest in Di Maria

CAIRO – 21 August 2017: FC Barcelona officials are expected to enter negotiations in the next few days to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) winger Angel Di Maria.

FC Barcelona have been interested in signing Liverpool’s winger Philippe Coutinho as a replacement to the ex-Barcelona winger, Neymar, who left the club and joined Paris Saint-Germain. However, FC Barcelona officials have found it difficult to persuade Liverpool to sell Coutinho. As a result, Barcelona has set Di Maria as their new target for the summer transfer window, Sky Sports reported.

Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague wrote on his official Twitter account on August 21, “as Barcelona have had to give up on Coutinho, the targets are now Jean Seri (OGC Nice), Ousmane Dembele (Borussia Dortmund)… and Di Maria (PSG).”

FC Barcelona became interested in signing a new winger ever since the departure of their winger Neymar, who left the club to join Paris Saint Germain on August 11.
