Sanchez scored six goal for ajax last season – Tottenham Twitter
19 August 2017:Tottenham Hotspurs announced on Friday signing Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez from Ajax Amsterdam for $51 million. Sanchez signed a contract to play with Tottenham until 2023.
“I would like to thank the coach, management, players and fans of Ajax. It is a great move for me to come here to develop my career,” Sanchez said to Tottenham’s official website after signing the contract.
Sanchez, 21 years old, was Ajax’s player of the year last season. He had many offers from big European clubs like Barcelona and Inter Milan, but in the end decided to go to Tottenham.
Sanchez added, “I am very excited to be signing for such a famous club as Tottenham Hotspurs. I am looking forward to working with Mauricio Pochettino and the players and meeting everyone there."
Sanchez joined Ajax in 2016 from Colombian team Atletico Nacional. He played 44 games with Ajax last season, scoring six goals.
