17 August 2017: Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt announced his retirement after the 2017 IAAF World Championships in Athletics held in London earlier this month, but he may now think of an offer to return to sports through football.

Burton Albion Chairman Ben Robinson has trust in Bolt’s ability to succeed as a footballer. He said, “If he can apply the same amount of enthusiasm and dedication to soccer, then who knows what might lie ahead. He's quick, if nothing else! I'm sure we would [offer a trial] and that the manager would,” according to the Sun.

Burton Albion is an English team that participates in the Championship, which is the second tier competition in England.

Usain Bolt, 30 years old, is known for his passion for football, and he spoke a lot about his childhood dream of being a footballer. He is expected to play with Manchester United legends against Barcelona legends on September 2.

Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough doesn’t have the same interest in signing Bolt like his chairman, as he told reporters, “It's a good job he [the chairman] doesn't pick the players then, isn't it?”

Clough added, “Would I be interested? No. I'm interested in trying to get a win on Friday night, no distractions.”
