Jese joined Stoke City on a one year loan – Stoke City Official Website
CAIRO - 16 August 2017: Stoke City announced on Wednesday that they signed the Spanish winger Jese Rodriguez for a 1 year loan. He is transferring from Paris Saint Germain (PSG). Rodriguez became Stoke’s sixth signing for the new season.
“I am very happy to be here, a new opportunity, a new challenge in the Premier League,” Jese spoke to Stoke City official website after signing his contract.
Stoke City Chief executive, Tony Scholes is very happy to sign the Spaniard. He spoke to Stoke City official website saying, “Jesé was a man in demand when PSG made it clear they would allow him to leave on loan, and we’re delighted he has chosen to join us.”
The 24-year-old winger is a Real Madrid academy product. He was promoted to Real Madrid first team at the age of 20 in 2013. He played 3 years for his childhood club.
Rodriguez joined PSG in August 2016, but he could not win a regular place on the squad so he returned to Spain in January to join Las Palmas on a loan.
Scholes spoke about Jese’s hard time in Paris. He said, “He hasn’t had the happiest of periods in his career in Paris, but he’s still only a young man and is hungry to make a big impression in the Premier League.”
He was asked about his ambitions with his new club. Jese answered, “I have never had an opportunity like this here so I am very happy to have the chance to show what I can do. I want to work hard and help the team.”
Rodriguez is expected to start his debut against Arsenal in the Premier League second fixture on Saturday.
