Preview: Italian Super Cup

CAIRO – 13 August 2017: Juventus FC is expected to go head to head against Lazio FC on August 13 in the Italian Super Cup final at the Stadio Olimpico.

Juventus FC will be hoping to win the treble after winning the Italian League and Cup. The team will appear for the first time in an official match without Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonnuci after leaving Juventus to join Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan. However, the newcomer Douglas Costa is set to make his debut with Juventus in the Italian Super Cup.

Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus manager, expressed his confidence in the team ahead of Sunday’s match.

On the other side, Lazio FC will be looking for a revenge following their 2-0 defeat against Juventus in the Italian Cup. Lazio has prepared well for the game playing two matches in the pre-season against German side Bayer Leverkuson and Spanish team Malaga. The Italian team managed to come victorious at both games.

Both teams faced each other in the Italian Super Cup in three occasions. Juventus managed to win two times in 2013 and 2015, while Lazio won one time in 1998.
