11 August 2017: Egypt’s handball team lost their third group match to France 36-29 on Friday in the IHF Men’s Youth World Championship in Georgia.
Egypt was a tough opponent for the French team in the first half, which ended with France leading 15-13, but France dominated the second half to win the match 36-29.
Egypt finished their first match with a draw against Denmark 28-28, before winning their second match against Sweden 26-24 on Thursday.
Egypt plays in Group A alongside France, Denmark, Sweden, Bahrain and Norway.
Egypt faces Bahrain on Sunday and Norway on Monday in the last group stage match.
Egypt has participated in all editions of the competition since its inception in 2005. Egypt’s best ranking was fifth place in 2007 in Bahrain.
Egyptian coach Bassem Mostafa’s chosen squad for the event is made up of Ahmed Khaled, Ahmed Rady, Mohsen Ramadan, Shehab Abd Allah, Sherif Essam, Omar Khaled, Khaled Walid, Mohamed Emad, Ziad Mahmoud, Khaled Essam, Abdelrahman Taha, Abdelrahman Adel, Omar Sami, Omar Aly, Mohamed Aly, Mohanad Hamdy, Ahmed Hany, Hassan Ahmed, Omar Hanafy, Seif Mohamed, Hazem Mamdouh, Galal Ayman, Moamen Mohamed, Mohamed Sami and Abdelaziz Ehab.
Georgia is hosting the IHF Men’s Youth World Championship for the first time from August 8-20.
