CAIRO – 10 August 2017 – The Egyptian team, consisting of Wael Talaat and Karim Helmy, qualified for the semi-finals of the World Championship of the "Billiards Masters" after beating the Indian team 4-3 on Wednesday.
The billiards World Championship is hosted by Egypt in Sahl Hashish, Red Sea Governorate, with the participation of 120 players representing 27 countries from all over the world.
The assistant of the president of the championship, Ahmed al-Shennawy praised the level of the Pharaohs' grandchildren during the quarter-finals, especially after they succeeded in changing their delay by losing 2-0 to win the 4-3, hoping for the national team to continue their victories till the final to win the title.
Shennawi thanked the rest of the Egyptian teams after they did their best during the quarter-finals and showed great performance but they failed to reach the semi-finals.
The Egyptian team consisting of Waleed Abdel Mohsen and Mustafa Mahmoud left the tournament in the quarter-finals after losing to the Thai team consisting of Shout Chard and Sot Sard, while the Pharaohs team consisting of Mohammed Abdullah and Ahmed Jalal lost to their Welsh counterparts, Darren Morgan and Wayne Morgan , to leave the tournament in the quarter-finals as well, While the Egyptian team which included Hisham Shawki and Mohammed Ibrahim left the tournament in the quarter-finals by losing to their Irish counterparts Rooney Gogis and Mark Alch.
