Modric to miss Spanish Super Cup first leg

9 August:Real Madrid will travel to Catalonia to play against Barcelona in Spanish Super Cup first leg on Sunday without their Veteran midfielder, Luca Modric.

Modric will miss the match for a reason happened three years ago, Modric booked a red card in 2014 Super Cup second leg against Atletico Madrid, Modric got a one match suspension but Real Madrid Couldn't qualify Super Cup since 2014 till now.

Modric led Real Madrid to European Super Cup trophy after beating English side, Manchestr United 2-1 on Tuesday at Skopje, Macedonia.

Real Madrid faces Barcelona in Spanish Super Cup, Real Madrid qualified to the match as Spanish League title holder while Barcelona qualified after winning Spanish Cup, It will be the first "Classico" in Spanish Super Cup since 2012 when Real Madrid won the title.

Barcelona has the most Spanish Super Cup titles winning the cup 12 times while Real Madrid has 9 titles since Spanish Super Cup inception in 1982.
