Esperence won the Arab Club Championship title – Egypt Today
CAIRO - 8 August 2017: Tunisian Esperence won 3-2 over Al-Faisaly from Jordan on Sunday to win the Arab Club Championship, after a tough game went to extra time.
Esperence started the match trying to score the first goal to have the upper hand in the game. They achieved what they wanted after Saad Bguir scored twice for Esperence in 10 minutes to give his team a comfortable lead.
Al-Faisaly believed in their ability to continue their adventure in the competition after scoring two goals by Akram Zuway and Khaled Zaid to equalize the score and take the game to extra time.
The experience of Esperence players was decisive in the game after they scored the winning goal during the first half of extra time by Chamsdeen Chaona, while Al-Faisaly players attacked the referee as they believed that the goal shouldn’t have been allowed because of being offsides.
At the end, Esperence achieved the title and Al-Faisaly, who eliminated Egyptian giants Al- Ahly from the semi-final, won the crowd’s respect for their great performance.
Egypt hosted the Arab Club Championship from July 22 to August 5 in Cairo and Alexandria.
