3 August 2017: Palmeiras will sell their biggest signing, Felipe Melo, after he had a fight last week with his coach, Alexi Stival, known as CuCa.

“We will continue in a different direction. Felipe is an asset of Palmeiras, worth money. If any club really wants Felipe, look for Palmeiras,” Palmeiras Executive Manager Alexandre Mattos told the club’s official website.

Felipe Melo joined Palmeiras in January 2017, playing only five games with the club before having a fight with his coach last week.

“He's a coward, a liar and has bad character,” Felipe Melo said to reporters about the coach after the fight.

Melo, 34 years old, is free to join any Brazilian club and play in the Brazilian League; the season ends in December. He said, “Corinthians, Internacional, Sao Paulo, Gremio, Atletico Mineiro and Flamengo are all interested in signing me.”

Felipe Melo is known for his fighting spirit, as he had a lot of fights and caused many problems during his football career in Brazil, Spain, Italy and Turkey.
