CAIRO – 30 July 2017: The last matches of the group stage of the Arab Championship will take place on Sunday with the group C matches of Al-Hilal vs Esperance Sportive and Al-Merrikh vs Naft Al-Wasat.
The Saudi Al-Hilal FC will face the Tunisian Esperance Sportive at 6 p.m. Cairo time at the Borg Al Arab stadium, while the last two teams of the group, Naft Al-Wasat and Al-Merrikh who have both only earned one point, will meet each other at Alexandria stadium at 9 p.m.
Esperance Sportive has already solidified their place in the seminal final before the last match of the group stage. The Tunisian side won their first two matches 2-0 against Al-Merrikh and against Naft Al-Wasat 1-0, putting them in the lead of group C with six points.
While the Tunisian team is one of the major contenders for the Arab Championship title, all four teams advancing to the semifinals are strong and qualified. The semifinal teams include: Al-Faisaly from Jordan as the leader of group A, Fath Union Sport the first position of group B and club of the century Al-Ahly as the best second positioned team of the tournament.
