CAIRO – 29 July 2017: Al Faisaly managed to snap the victory from Al Wahda in the last minutes of the game, beating Al Wahda 2-1 on Friday evening.
Jordanian team Al Faisaly is now closer to qualify to the semifinals of the Arab Championship after reaching the sixth point out of three matches and leading group A table after defeating the UAE’s Al Wahda, which has lost all its games in the tournament and is now in last place of the group with zero points.
Al Wahda led the game starting from the 41st minute after Morad Batna scored the first goal of the game for Al Wahda. That lead lasted 35 minutes until Lucas Simon equalized for Al Faisaly in the 76th minute of the game. The game ended dramatically as the attacking midfielder of Al Faisaly, Libyan Akram Zuway, scored the winning goal in critical timing at the extra time on the 92nd minute of the game to put his team in the lead of the game and group A.
Al Faisaly will wait the result of the other two teams of the group match Al Ahly and Nassr Hussein Dey as each team of them has also 3 points and the winner will equalize with Al Faisaly but the goal difference will determine who is the first of the group.
