Sharapova last two years were so hard- Reuters
CAIRO - 28 July 2017: Russian Tennis player, Maria Sharapova received an invitation to compete again in Cincinnati Masters in USA, Sharapova will return to play in USA for the first time since 2015.
"I'm getting ready for the North American hard-court season now, one of my favorites. I'll play Stanford, then Toronto and I'm going to give it everything I have," Sharapova, 30 years, wrote in a column for The Players' Tribune.
Sharapova ended 15 months suspension due to a positive drug sample, she returned to play at Stuttgart Open in April, but a thigh injury prevented her from competing till now.
Sharapova, former No.1, spoke about the criticism she had from her colleagues, she said" I'm aware of what many of my peers have said about me, But at the same time I've always tried to keep a generous attitude toward critics in general whoever they are, and whenever they've been there."
Sharapova talked about how she felt during her time away from the court, she said "These last two years have been tougher so much tougher than I ever could have anticipated, my passion for the game has never wavered. If anything, it's only grown stronger.”
Sharapova won five grand slams competitions, Wimbledon in 2004, U.S. Open in 2006, Australian Open in 2008 and French Open in 2010 and 2014.
