CAIRO, 28 January 2025: The draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, to be held in Morocco, placed Egypt's national team, led by Hossam Hassan, in Group B alongside South Africa, Angola, and Zimbabwe.

Group C: Nigeria, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania
Group D: Senegal, DR Congo, Benin, Botswana
Group E: Algeria, Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan
Group F: Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Gabon, Mozambique
Out of the 24 teams that qualified for the continental tournament, 12 have collectively won 28 Africa Cup of Nations titles in the past. Egypt holds the record for the most participations in the tournament’s history, with 27 appearances, and is the most successful team, having won the title 7 times in 1957, 1959, 1986, 1998, 2006, 2008, and 2010.
Ivory Coast follows with 26 appearances and is the defending champion, having claimed the title three times (1992, 2015, 2023). Cameroon and Tunisia have both participated 22 times, with Cameroon winning the tournament 5 times (1984, 1988, 2000, 2002, 2017) and Tunisia securing one title in 2004.
