CAIRO – 25 July 2017: AS Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi turned 34 on Monday. De Rossi was born on July 24, 1983 in Rome. He has spent his entire career with AS Roma. He made his first team debut in 2011 at the age of 18; that game against Anderlecht ended in a 1-1 draw during the Champions League. That season would also include three appearances in the Italian Cup. The following year he scored his first professional goal against FC Torino (3-1 the final score), solidifying him as the backbone of the team.
He has won two Italian Cups, one Italian Super Coppa, UEFA U21 Championship, and the FIFA World Cup. The Rome-born central midfielder has played a staggering 561 games in the Roma jersey, scoring 59 goals in his club career. He currently sits second on the club’s all-time list of games appearances.
Last season De Rossi scored five goals in 40 games for the club, 31 of those goals came in Series A. During his career he has also made 114 appearances for the Italian national team, managing to score 21 goals. His performance has made him the highest Roma goal scorer of all Italian teams.
