Egypt prepares for African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Cape Verde and Botswana

CAIRO, 11 November 2024: The Egyptian national football team, led by Hossam Hassan, held their first training session at the Air Defense Stadium in preparation for their upcoming matches against Cape Verde and Botswana on November 15 and 19, respectively. These matches are part of the fifth and sixth rounds of the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations.

Ibrahim Hassan, the team’s manager, announced that the match against Botswana, originally scheduled for 9 PM on November 19, has been rescheduled to 5 PM Cairo time. This change was made to ensure fair play, as Cape Verde and Mauritania will play at the same time.

Egypt vs. Cape Verde: The match will take place at 6 PM on Friday, November 15, as part of the fifth round of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers for the 2025 tournament in Morocco.

The Egyptian team will depart for Cape Verde on Wednesday and return the day after the match to continue their training camp in preparation for the Botswana match on November 19.

Earlier, Egyptian national team coach, Hossam Hassan, announced the squad which will play the two matches.

Midfielders: Mohamed Shehata, Mahmoud Saber, Omar Kamal, Marwan Attia, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, Nabil Emad Dunga, Nasser Maher, Mostafa Fathi, Taher Mohamed Taher

Forwards: Omar Marmoush, Ibrahim Adel, Mahmoud Abdelhafiz Zalaka, Mostafa Mohamed, Osama Faisal
