Al-Ahly challenges Pyramids in a match to decide the Egyptian league title

CAIRO, July 22, 2024:  Al-Ahly, led by Swiss coach Marcel Koller, will face Pyramids, led by Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurcic on Monday evening, as part of the thirty-first round of the Egyptian League competition.

 

Al-Ahly is preparing to face Pyramids, scheduled for nine o’clock in the evening today, Monday, at the Air Defense Stadium.

 

Al-Ahly and Pyramids match is an important match for both teams. The Red Giants are looking to correct their position in the league table by winning in all the next matches to rise to the top of the competition. Al Ahly aim to maintain the local title after the African coronation.

On the other hand, Pyramids, the match host, are looking to win to keep their hopes alive in the journey of winning their first title ever since their first appearance in the Egyptian league in 2018.

Pyramids occupies the top spot in the league table with 68 points after playing 28 matches, achieving 21 wins and a draw in 5 matches, losing two matches, scoring 51 goals and conceding 20.

 

While Al-Ahly occupies second place with 63 points after playing 25 matches, winning 20 matches, drawing 3 matches and losing two matches. Al Ahly players scored 59 goals and conceded 23.

 

Al-Ahly defeated Modern Sport 2-1 in their last appearance in the league competition, while Pyramids lost to Al-Ahly 3-2 their last appearance in the competition.
