CAIRO, July 17, 2024: Al-Ahly squad maintained its winning streak after defeating Modern Sport club 2-1 in the crucial match that brought them together on Tuesday evening at Cairo Stadium.
The match was postponed from the Egyptian League`s 17th round.
In the 26th minute, Arnold Ayba gave Morden Sport the lead. Emam Ashour then tied the score for Al-Ahly in the 45th minute, and Percy Tau then added the second goal for Al-Ahly in the 62nd minute.
Al-Ahly, having played 25 matches, now has a score of 63 and maintained their second-place position. Twenty matches were won, three were tied, and two were lost.
The Reds scored 59 goals and conceded 23 goals.
While Modern Sport's score freezes at 47 points after playing 30 matches, achieving 12 wins and 11 draws, losing 7 confrontations, scoring 32 goals and conceding 23.
Al-Ahly defeated Pyramids 3-2 in their last appearance in the league competition, while Modern Sport defeated Arab Contractors 2-1.
