Remember the name...Phil Foden

CAIRO - 23 July 2017: Football Fans were waiting for the friendly clash between Manchester City and their rivals Manchester United in Houston on Friday. They wait in anticipation to see the new signees like Romelu Lukaku, Kyle Walker and Ederson Morales. But, the surprise came from Phil Foden, an unknown name before the match that turned out to be the only one under the spotlight until the final whistle.

Foden, is a 17-years-old Manchester City Academy product that caught the eyes of the first team coach, Pep Guardiola. Manchester gave him the opportunity to show the world what Guardiola saw in him.

He was small and shy coming through the tunnel among the giants in both sides, but as the match started, everything fell under his shadow. Players, coaches, and the score fell under the magic of the number 80 jersey.

He turned the pitch into his theatre. He performed and heard the admiring cheers when he touched the ball. He played with no fear. He was aggressive in the field, passing, shooting and controlling the game with his young fresh legs.

If Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona and Roberto Rivelino were on a magic bus, they would have to find a seat for a new promising English talent named Phil Foden. And just like famous magicians, we should all remember his name.
