CAIRO – 23 July 2017: Manchester City announced on Sunday signing of the Brazilian defender, Danilo da silva, from Real Madrid for €35 million ($40 million), Silva signed a five year contract with his new club.

“I am very, very happy to be joining Manchester City, I can’t wait to get started and I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates over the coming weeks," Danilo told Manchester City website after the signing.

Da Silva talked about choosing Manchester City as his destination, he said "There has been strong interest from other Clubs, but it has always been my ambition to play for Pep Guardiola. As soon as I heard of his interest, I knew immediately I wanted to be a City player."

Manchester City Director of football, Txiki Begiristain seems so happy to add Silva to Manchester City squad; he said "Danilo is a fine player who offers great versatility to our squad,” he also added that “He can operate in several different roles, in both defense and midfield, increasing Guardiola’s options ahead of the new season."

Danilo joined Manchester City from Real Madrid after achieving two Champions League titles in a row in 2016 and 2017, as well as 2017 Spanish League.
