The Egyptian national team will play Cap Verde in the third and final round of the group stage of the tournament's second group matches on Monday at ten o'clock in the evening at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium.
The Egyptian national team enters today's match in second place in the second group matches with two points, while the Cape Verde national team is at the top of the group with 6 points, and the Ghana and Mozambique national teams are in third and fourth place, respectively, with a point for each team.
Egypt’s coach, Roy Vittoria, aims to secure the national team first victory in the tournament when they face the tough Cape Verde. Egypt earned two points from two 2-2 draw against Mozambique & Ghana in the last two rounds.
The Pharaohs are looking to qualify to the 16th round in the second place to avoid facing tough teams like Senegal or Morocco in the early rounds.
The Egyptian national team will lose the efforts of its captain, Mohamed Salah, during today’s match against Cape Verde, due to a strain in the posterior muscle, which he suffered in the last match with Ghana. Salah will return to Liverpool to continue his treatment.
