CAIRO – 20 July 2017: Arsene Wenger, Arsenal’s manager, became the longest-serving manager in the history of the English Premier League.

Wenger managed to beat the record of Sir Alex Ferguson, Manchester United’s veteran manager, on July 16.

According to Skysports, Wenger became the longest reigning manager after being in charge of Arsenal FC for 7,583 days beating Ferguson’s record, who was the manager of Manchester United for 7,582 days.

Adding on from Skysports, Wenger was the manager of Arsenal in 790 games. The Frenchman was able to win 457 matches. His team drew in 193 games suffered 140 losses.

Wenger was crowned champion of the Premier League with Arsenal FC three times.

He is famously known for winning the 2003/2004 league title, with no losses, while coaching what was called the invincible team. He held a 17-month winning streak, playing 49 league matches without conceding a defeat.
