Egypt loses to Morocco in the U-23 African Cup of Nations

CAIRO, 9 July 2023: Ibrahim Adel was crowned the best player in the U-23 African Cup of Nations with the Egyptian Olympic team.

 

Egypt lost against Morocco 1-2, on Saturday evening, in the final of the African U-23 Championship, which qualifies for the Paris Olympics 2024.

 

Both teams secured qualification for the 2024 Olympics after reaching the Final. Mali secured the qualification as well after securing the third place of the tournament.

 

 

Osama Targhalin scored the winning goal in the 105th minute.

 

The Egyptian Olympic team entered the match with a formation that includes, in the goalkeeper: Hamza Alaa, in the defense line: Hatem Sukkar, Hossam Abdel Majeed, Mohamed Tariq, Ahmed Eid, midfield: Ahmed Nabil Koka, Mohamed Shehata, Mahmoud Saber, offensive line: Ibrahim Adel, Osama Faisal, Ahmed Atef.

 

On the other hand, the formation of the Moroccan national team came as follows: Alaa Belarouch in goalkeeper, Ayman Al-Wafi, Ismail Sibari, Zakaria Al-Wahdi, Mahdi Boukamir, Abdel Samad Al-Zalzouli, Osama Al-Azozi, Ayoub Amrawi, Bilal Al-Khanous and Amir Richardson.
