CAIRO, 12 February 2023: Al-Ahly player, Ahmed Abdel Qader, expressed his sadness after losing to Brazilian Flamengo 4-2 in the third-place match of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Abdel Qader said, during statements to Time Sports channel: “Khaled Abdel-Fattah's red card effect was huge on us and forced us to retreat, even though we were superior in the result and in controlling the match.”
Abdel Qader continued, "We were well during Flamengo match, but we missed a penalty kick, in addition to wasting many chances;"
He concluded: "We need to focus on the upcoming matches."
Al-Ahly lost from Brazilian Flamengo 4-2 in the match that was held on Saturday evening, at Ibn Battuta Stadium in the Moroccan city of Tangier, so that the Brazilian champion won the bronze medal, while Al-Ahly ranked fourth.
Al-Ahly’s formation for the match included: Mohamed El-Shennawy, Khaled Abdel-Fattah, Yasser Ibrahim, Mohamed Abdel-Moneim, Ali Maaloul, Hamdi Fathy, Marwan Attia, Taher Mohamed Taher, Ahmed Abdel-Qader, Percy Tau and Mohamed Sherif.
