CAIRO –17 July 2017:Minister of Youth and Sports Khaled Abdel Aziz congratulated on Sunday national weightlifting team players Mohamed Ehab, Rajab Abdel Hay, Shaimaa Khalaf and Dina Barakat for winning 12 gold medals in the African Championship for Weightlifting in Mauritius, which ends July 17.
Ehab won three gold medals after finishing first in the 85kg category. Ehab previously picked up gold for both the snatch and the clean and jerk, with a total weight 348kg; 158 in the snatch and 190 in the clean and jerk.
Shaimaa was also crowned with three gold medals in the +90kg competitions, where she won the gold for the snatch and the clean and jerk, as well as for the total weight of 275kg.
Dina also achieved three gold medals in the 90kg weight category in the snatch and the clean and jerk, as well as for the total weight.
Abdel Hay was also crowned with three gold medals, which were also divided between the snatch, the clean and jerk, and the total weight.
Egypt is participating in this African weightlifting competition with the aforementioned players, as well as Ahmed Abdel Aziz.
