CAIRO - 2 July: Al Ahly will play their first game under the new Portuguese head coach, Ricardo Soares, on Saturday night against Petrojet in the 2021 Egyptian Cup semi-finals.
Soares hopes to get off a dream start and guide the Red Devils to victory, which will make them only one step away from defending the domestic cup title.
The Portuguese coach was presented on Friday as the new head coach of Al Ahly and he took charge of the team's last two training sessions ahead of the game.
Soares received some good news ahead of the game as Amr El Soulia returned to the squad after missing the game against Smouha for injury.
Petrojet, who are playing in the second division, are facing tough circumstances ahead of their clash with the defending champions as they enter the game with only 15 senior players and Haytham Shaaban, the team's manager, had to promote three youngsters to complete their squad for the game.
Petrojet have booked their place in the semi-finals since April when they defeated Wadi Degla but the team lost some of his players after the end of the second division league in June.
The game starts at 9:00 PM.
