Venus Williams won 5 Wimbledon titles - Reuters
CAIRO –14 July 2017: Venus Williams’s victory over Johanna Konta in Wimbledon semi-final took the American lady to the final again after 8 years, Venus played her last final in 2009.
“She played an amazing tournament. She showed a lot of courage, played in tough situations against players who were in form," Venus praised Konta after their match.
Venus won Wimbledon title five times, the first one was in 2000 and the last in 2008.
Venus paid a tribute to her sister Serena who missed the competition because of her pregnancy, she said "“Even more yesterday and today. I try to take the same courage on the court that she would have. I did think of that. I tried to do the things she would do."
Venus added, "I don’t know that I play exactly the same way she does. But I really tried to be inspired by it.”
Venus, 37 years, to face Garbiñe Muguruza on Saturday, Venus will try to be the oldest woman to win a big title in tennis.
