CAIRO -20 May 2022: Frank Lampard had a special night on Thursday after leading Everton to secure their place in the Premier League after a nervy season for Everton fans.
The drama was present at Goodison Park as the Blues fought back from two goals behind at half-time against Crystal Palace to win the game 3-2.
"It is one of the greatest moments of my footballing life and career. I have been very fortunate to have amazing times, especially at Chelsea as a player and a coach. But when you feel the feelings and desperation of what relegation brings to the table, it is different." Lampard said after the game.
Lampard was appointed as the head coach of Everton in January when they were only four points above the relegation zone and managed to guide The Toffees to stay in the Premier League.
During his mission with Everton, Lampard led the team in 17 matches, achieving six victories and two draws and granting 20 points for The Blues and these points were enough to keep the team in the league with one round remaining.
Lampard added "You know what, come and work at this club for a few months and see the difficulties and what it means to people to stay in this league. It is a special night in Everton's history."
