CAIRO – 13 July 2017: Roger Federer qualified for Wimbledon semi-final after beating Milos Raonic 3-0 on Wednesday. Federer will face Berdych, who won over Novac Djokovic.
"I'm very happy that my body has kept me going after all these years. Mexican Wave on Centre Court; you don't see that every day,” Federer told reporters in the press court after the match.
Federer continued his amazing run in the competition. Dominating the game against Raonic from the beginning, he won the first two sets 6-4 and 6-2, then winning the third difficult set 7-6 after a beautiful comeback in a tie-break.
On the other hand, Djokvic’s muscles forced him to retire against Berdych after two ties in the second set. He lost the first set 6-7 and was losing the second set 2-0 before he decided to retire.
"At the end of the day, we're all humans. We've got to go through these stages," Djokovic said to Wimbledon’s website after the match.
Federer, winner of seven Wimbledon titles, will try to take another step towards his 8th Wimbledon title when he faces Bredych at the semi-final on Friday.
