Al-Ahly suffers from influential absences in the squad due to injuries or the presence of international players with the Egyptian national team to participate in the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

Those circumstances led the coaching staff to rely on a large number of young players in this tournament.

Al-Ahly prepared well for the Monterrey match tonight by watching videos of the Mexican champion’s matches to learn about their style of play, their method in the attacking position, the time of possession of the ball and their method of penetrating the opponents’ defense, as well as their method in the defense position to identify the weaknesses in their back line and the most prominent problems.

Al-Ahly’s technical staff was keen to develop a game plan that suits Monterrey’s style of play in order to reduce the danger of the Mexican champion and control the course of the match and not leave freedom for the opposing team to control the course of the game, and try to move between the Monterrey lines with ease and reach their goal in order to achieve the goal in scoring an early goal confuses the Mexican champion.

Al-Ahly club officials were also keen to motivate the current players through psychological sessions conducted by the big players such as Walid Suleiman and Rami Rabia, as well as through the presence of Hossam Ghaly, a member of the board of directors, with the Red delegation on an ongoing basis to support them.

The formation expected to be played by Al-Ahly consists of Ali Lotfi in goalkeeping, Mohamed Hani, Rami Rabia, Yasser Ibrahim, Ali Maaloul in defense, Elio Diang, Walid Suleiman, Mohamed Magdy Afsha in the middle, Hussein Al-Shahat, Ahmed Abdel Qader and Taher Taher in the attack.

On the other hand, the Mexican team Monterrey seeks to win over Al-Ahly, taking advantage of the difficult conditions that the African champion suffers from in the absence of the basic elements from him in resolving the match and qualifying directly to the semi-finals, especially as he plays the match full-fledged without the presence of influential absences as is the case for the team.  Red, and wants to make his best start in the tournament.

Javier Aguirre wants to reach the farthest point with Monterrey through his current participation in the Club World Cup, especially since he knows a lot about Al-Ahly through his previous work in training the Egyptian national team 3 years ago, and he has sufficient information about the African champion and Egyptian football in general.
