We did not expect the big victory over Zamalek: Yehia

CAIRO-23 January 2022: Ghazl El Mahalla striker Abdo Yehia has an impressive night on Saturday after leading his team to a record 3-0 win over Zamalek in Cairo.

Yehia scored two goals in Zamalek’s nets and he could have added more with the chances he had.

“It was a great night for us. We always play to win but we did not expect this wide victory. It is never easy to score three goals against Zamalek.” Yehia said after the match.

Another three points were added to El Mahalla’s tally in the EPL Cup and they are now leading the group with 5 points after three matches.

El Mahalla still has two matches in the group and they are going to the last phase of the group stage with a great hope to book their place in the semi-finals.

Yehia added “Zamalek are struggling in the group and this is a good chance for us to finish as group leaders. We will fight to win the next two games.”

The giants of the Nile Delta experienced the joy of winning trophies once in their history when they celebrated the League title in 1973 and they are hoping to experience the same feeling again this season in the EPL Cup.
