CAIRO –11 July 2017: The national weightlifting team traveled from Egypt on Tuesday to Mauritius for the African Weightlifting Championship on July 11-18.

The delegation was supposed to leave on Monday but their flight was delayed until Tuesday due to airline tickets, the National Team will fly to Dubai for four hours, and then will be in transit in Dubai for 10 hours and will resume their flight to Mauritius for 5 hours, Super Kora reported.

The Egyptian weightlifting team participates in the African Championship with a small team of 5 players with three men and two women: Mohamed Ehab, 85 kg; Rajab Abdel Hay, 94 kg; Ahmed Abdel Aziz, +105kg; Dina Barakat 90 kg and Shaimaa Khalaf, +90kg; led by the head coach Mohamed Moussa Al Deeb and the coach Mohamed Hosni.

The National Team prepared for the championship with closed camp at the Olympic Center in Maadi after returning from the Islamic Solidarity Games held last May in Azerbaijan, where the Egyptian weightlifting team won 5 medals, of which 4 gold and 1 silver.
