CAIRO-24 December 2021: Al Ahly provided updates on the injury of their midfielder Amr El Soulia on Friday, confirming that the player will be sidelined for at least three weeks.
The player suffered an injury in his calf muscle only one minute before the start of the African Super Cup match against Raja Casablanca on Wednesday, which ended with a victory for the Red Devils.
"El Soulia began his recovery program, under the supervision of the team’s medical staff, and received a plasma injection." Al Ahly statement said.
The Africa Cup of Nations competition is starting in less than three weeks, which mean that the player will miss at least the opening two games of the competition, if Carlos Queiroz, Egypt national team head coach, decided to take him to Cameroon.
El Soulia has finally established himself as a starting player in the national team and he was one of the Pharaohs' best players in the FIFA Arab Cup.
