CAIRO-17 December 2021: Mohamed Salah scored a goal in Liverpool's 3-1 home win over Newcastle United on Thursday night.
Salah's goal took his tally in the Premier League this season to 15 goals, extending his lead at the top of the goalscoring charts of the competition, six goals ahead of Diego Jota and Jamie Vardy who scored 9 goals.
The Egyptian winger scored a goal when the score was levelled at 1-1 after Sadio Mane's effort was saved by Newcastle goalkeeper to reach Salah who was ready to put the ball in the back of the net.
Salah's goal allowed him to match Vardy's impressive record of goal involvements in 15 consecutive matches, which was set by the English striker in 2015-2016 campaign when he led his team to win the prestigious title.
Liverpool are one point behind the leaders, Manchester City, while Chelsea dropped two points after a disappointing 1-1 draw at home against Everton, which left them four points off the top.
