CAIRO-16 December 2021: Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane sent a message of support to Amr El Soulia, Al Ahly and Egypt national team midfielder, after the player scored an own goal that led to a last-gasp loss against Tunisia in the FIFA Arab Cup semi-finals.
Amr El Soulia flicked the ball into his own net in the dying seconds of the game, giving Tunisia a 1-0 win and denying the Pharaohs a chance to go to the extra time and fight to reach the final.
Mosimane tweeted after the game to support his player, saying "Amr el Souliya, we can’t wait to be celebrating with you again.The commitment and passion you put in every game you play is unforgettable."
El Soulia, Egypt's captain at FIFA Arab Cup, has enjoyed some of his best moments with the national team during the ongoing competition after putting on sensational performances in all of Egypt's five matches in the competition.
El Soulia proved himself as a key ingredient in Carlos Queiroz's squad and was successful in leading a group of young promising talents to the competition's semis.
El Soulia will stay in Qatar alongside his Al Ahly teammates participating in the competition as Al Ahly will face Morocco's Raja Casablanca in the CAF Super Cup in Qatar on 22 December.
