CAIRO-4 December 2021: Egypt put on a strong display against Sudan on Saturday, securing a 5-0 win and booking a place in the FIFA Arab Cup quarter-finals alongside Algeria.

The two teams will face on Tuesday in the last game of the group stage to decide the top of the group as both teams have the same points, scored the same number of goals and did not concede any goals with a goal difference of +6.

The Pharaohs did not need much time to prove their desire of winning the game as Ahmed Refaat opened the score with a fantastic left-footed strike that found the top corner.

Zizo doubled the score quickly from the spot as Omar Kamal Abdelwahed was tackled inside the opposition's box.

Egypt finished the first half with a 3-0 lead thanks to a goal from Mahmoud Hamdy El Wensh.

In the second half, Egypt added another two goals through Hussein Faisal and Mohamed Sherif to win the game 5-0 after an entertaining performance from Carlos Queiroz's men.

The Egyptian fans hope for another strong performance against Algeria to finish the group stage as leaders and avoid an early final with Morocco, who are atop of group C with six points and needs a draw against Saudi Arabia to reach the second round as group leaders.

Qatar hosts the FIFA Arab Cup between 30 November and 18 December with the participation of 16 Arab nations.
