CAIRO-27 November 2021: Al Ahly SC club members renewed their trust in the club's legend, Mahmoud El Khatib, and he will be Al Ahly SC president for another run.
El Khatib has been the club president between 2017 and 2021 and his term saw extraordinary achievements for the club as the Red Devils managed to win the domestic league three times in a row, back-to-back CAF Champions League titles in addition to securing the bronze medal in the FIFA Club World Cup for the second time in the club's history.
El Khatib, commonly known as Bibo, joined Al Ahly as a young man in 1971 and since then he started to build an untouchable legacy at the club, as many of the club fans consider him the most important figure in the club's history.
El Khatib has served the club in different positions, starting from his role as a first-team player between 1973 and 1987, when he announced his retirement from football and was honoured by the club fans in a historic rainy night at Cairo International Stadium in December 1988.
Since then he moved to the Board room, where he served the club as a board member, treasurer, vice-president and the club's president.
Also, Al Ahly's general assembly renewed their trust in other 7 members of the club's previous board and gave the chance to four new comers, including the club's historic captain, Hossam Ghaly
