CAIRO-25 November 2021: Al Ahly agreed on the Confederation of African Football’s suggestion to play the CAF Super Cup game against Raja Casablance of Morocco on 24 December under one condition.
An official from the club told Egypt Today that the club has asked CAF for a permission to include the club’s new signings in the game’s squad as they are not added yet to the team’s list for African competitions.
The Moroccan side also revealed that they agreed on the suggested date under the same condition of Al Ahly. The Red Devils qualified to the CAF Super Cup as the 2021 CAF Champions League winners while the giants of Morocco reached the game after winning the CAF Confederation Cup title.
Al Ahly achieved the title last season after defeating Morocco’s RS Berkane 2-0 and they have a 7-record Super Cup titles while the Moroccans have achieved the title on two occasions in 2000 and 2019.
The game will be moved to January or February of 2022 if the two teams do not reach an agreement with CAF to play the game on the suggested date.
