Mosimane announces Al Ahly's Starting Line-up for the Final

Cairo-17 July 2021: Al Ahly's manager Pitso Mosimane announced the Red Devils' starting line-up for the CAF Champions League final against South Africa's Kaizer Chiefs. 

 

Al Ahly's starting line-up consists of: Mohamed El Shenawy, Ali Maaloul, Akram Tawfik, Badr Benoun, Ayman Ashraf, Hamdy Fathy, Amr El Soulia, Taher Mohamed Taher, Hussein El Shahat, Mohamed Magdy Afsha and Mohamed Sherif.

 

The Red Devils from Egypt will be facing a team from South Africa in the CAF Champions League final for the third time after facing Mamelodi Sundowns in 2001 and Orlando Pirates in 2013, with Al Ahly winning the title on both occasions. 

 

Al Ahly's South African coach Pitso Mosimane hopes to guide his team to the title again and he believes that his players are ready to clinch the title.

 

Al Ahly are heading into the final as favourites, given they are the defending champions and the most successful club in the competition's history with 9 titles. On the other hand, their South African opponents will appear in the final for the first time in history. 

 

The winner of tonight's final will represent Africa in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled in Japan next December.

 

The game starts at 9:00 PM (Cairo Time) at Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca.
