CAIRO-27 June 2021: Al Ahly defeated Esperance of Tunisia 3-0 on Saturday night, securing a spot in the CAF Champions League final after winning the semi-final tie 4-0 on aggregate.
Ali Maaloul opened the score for Al Ahly from the spot minutes before half-time. Taher Mohamed Taher was tackled inside the box and the referee awarded Al Ahly a penalty and sent off the Tunisian defender, giving Al Ahly the chance to open the score.
In the second half, Mohamed Sherif killed the game with the second goal. Afsha gave the striker a fantastic pass and he put it with one touch in the back of the net.
Al Ahly substitute Hussein El Shahat added the third goal with a sensational finish after receiving a beautiful pass from Afsha, who put in a beautiful individual display.
The Red Eagles booked a place in the CAF Champions League final and they will face South Africa's Kaiser Chiefs, who secured a draw at home against Wydad Casablanca earlier on Saturday, securing a place in the final, thanks to a 1-0 win in the first leg in Morocco.
The CAF Champions League final is scheduled on 17 July at Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca.
